I didn’t know there was a new type of hotel from this brand until I started to research my trip to London. I contacted Hub by Premier Inn to find out more and it was a great fit for me.
Compact, high tech and within walking distance of underground stations and central London areas, this hotel is a brilliant choice for solo, business travellers or couples staying in the city.
It has everything you need and is very clever with space. The bed is big and comfortable and the glass between the bedroom and shower room make it feel spacious. Three long windows let in lots of light during the day and it becomes ambient with low lights at night. All controlled by a panel in your headboard.
Talking of tech, I should go back to walking through the front entrance of the Hub by Premier Inn. Everything is automatic and sleek. I walked up to four screens that were mounted on stands coming up from the floor. It looked like something from a sci-fi film and I momentarily wondered whether I could start steering a spaceship from one of them.
A staff member walked over from the desk and asked if I had stayed before and did I need help with check in. I asked them to take me through it. I logged in with my details and went through checks about my room. A key card was imprinted with the details in the machine and I could use it for access to the lifts and my room. I was told that I could check in with the app in future and that would save time. The app also controls temperature, lights and even ordering breakfast.
The shower room in my hub was spotless and had everything I needed. Towels and bed linen are in a bundle on your bed when you get in. The water was a good temperature and pressure which is (sadly!) something I look for when I travel. Oh the rock and roll lifestyle!
The room had more than enough storage with a drawer and open space under the bed and a place to hang clothes behind the mirror. Great use of space by the hotel.
The views out to the city were great from my room. I was on Brick Lane and could see the Shard. I was walking distance from Spitalfields Market and Liverpool Street station. This was perfect to get anywhere fast and I wish I had more time to explore the area. I found a few great restaurants and bars for next time.
Breakfast the next day was quick, easy and filling. I went to the counter and asked what was included in my room rate. I was given a few options for drinks and food. I chose a bacon sandwich, apple juice and a large coffee. This was made and brought to me by another friendly member of staff. It was a good choice for people on the go. Its no full English but it definitely starts your day well.
I’m seriously impressed at the level of service and tech delivered by such a good value hotel. I have already recommended to friends and work colleagues. I will be doing a business trip to London soon and I know which hotel I’ll be booking. Hubs can be found in Spitalfields, Covent Garden, Goodge Street and Tower Bridge. One of my new favourites!
Disclaimer: Hub by Premier Inn offered me a one night stay here and asked for feedback. My views are, as always, my own and I was very impressed
