5 Nights, 5 Different Restaurants – Newcastle Restaurant Week

Food glorious food! I do love a good meal out with family and friends. I actually get asked about places to eat quite often either in the North East of England or when I travel. There is so much choice in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne and now that Restaurant Week has hit, its time to explore new places!

In previous years, I have tried one new restaurant each time Restaurant Week has come around but this year is different. I decided to get out there and check out places I haven’t been before. I wanted a good variety so I have chosen English/Mediterranean, Indian, Thai, vegan and a gin place (with food!) that I didn’t know existed. I will be out for five nights; Monday to Friday and will review each one.

Last year I tried the Botanist and really enjoyed the meal and drinks. The atmosphere is really nice and I have been back since.

The year before, I tried out Pleased To Meet You. I’d been for drinks to their bar and loved it but I’d never had any food. I wasn’t sure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised by the food and the value for money was great.

The deals, for me, make Restaurant Week affordable and encourage people to get out and try new things. You can get £10 or £15 deals in most of the 90 restaurants listed. It is a great excuse to book a table and try something new. Even an old favourite at half the price is worth it!

I will let you know what the five restaurants are like and would love to hear from you about your experiences.

Are you going to any restaurants in Newcastle from 8th to 14th August?
